In this breathtaking meeting, the Gabonese players, under the direction of their coach John Masnoudji, were able to turn the situation around after being behind, and thus took their revenge on Chaux Sport, who had beaten them a few days earlier in Douala (76- 79). This time, the Moandais held on, showing solid control in the final minutes to snatch a well-deserved victory.
This first success is particularly important for Moanda in this crucial phase, giving them a strategic lead in group A. The cohesion and resilience of the team were decisive in this duel where every point counted, allowing the Gorillas to confirm their potential facing formidable adversaries.
Moanda’s players are now focusing on their next match, scheduled for Wednesday, November 6, against the ABC Fighters, the host team from Ivory Coast. Expectations are high, and the Gorillas will approach this new meeting with the desire to consolidate their position and assert their ambition in the race to qualify for the BAL.
Building on this first victory, the Gorillas hope to continue this momentum and secure their place in the final tournament of the Basketball Africa League, thus confirming their rise to power in continental basketball.
