Mexico City. In the mountain municipality of Huajicori, Nayarit, where clashes have been reported between groups of the Jalisco Nueva Generación cartel (CJNG) and members of cells of the faction known as La Mayizaand who are part of the Sinaloa cartel, personnel from the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena) carried out the arrest of seven people and the seizure of firearms.
“As a result of the actions to strengthen the rule of law in the country and detect illicit activities, personnel from the Mexican Army and the National Guard in coordination with the State Police, when carrying out ground reconnaissance in the Providencia town of the municipality of Huajicori, were attacked with firearms by unknown subjects, the attack being repelled by federal forces in defense of their physical integrity, achieving the arrest of seven people and the seizure of seven high-powered firearms, 59 magazines and more than a thousand 600 cartridges,” said Sedena.
The detainees and what was insured were placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry to determine the legal situation of those arrested and continue with the ministerial investigations.
