The investigations continue and do not stop with the arrest deferred flagrancyi.e. within 48 hours of the events, of the first six people, four from Varese and two from Trieste. This is the clear message coming from the police, who naturally hope to be able to identify all the culprits and bring them to justice. And obviously it is the hope of the Julian fans, for whom the visiting ultras, on Sunday evening, set up an ambush the likes of which had not been seen in basketball for many years. Many, especially on social media, protested loudly over the arrest of the two Giuliani supporters. It will then be up to the judiciary to judge whether the two were actually guilty of having contributed to the fight or not, but according to the police station, evidently, the elements for the arrest were there. We were not present at that time via Flavia because they are still busy inside the PalaTrieste and we cannot have our say: it will be the judges who will classify the reaction as simple self-defense (and we hope so) or whether they will instead find them guilty.
What is certain is that given the gravity of the fact – premeditated – carried out by the Lombard supporters, the hope is that behind bars, and for a very long period, not only four of them but all those people from Varese who provoked the despicable act of violence. In this regard, the police forces invite all the Trieste fans present in the area during the clashes to inform the police headquarters if they have photo or video that can help identify the culprits. Any testimony capable of facilitating the investigation will be welcomed.
