The affected people in the area can therefore use all outside help. Marcos Llorente put his words into words on Wednesday. Axel Witsel’s Spanish teammate at Atlético Madrid is currently recovering from a hamstring injury, but the club was allowed to travel to Paris for the Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain (1-2 win).
Llorente declined the proposal, because he simply had other plans. With permission from Atlético, he and his father and friend delivered a load of no fewer than 400 high-pressure cleaners in the Valencia region, more specifically around the football stadium of the Spanish first division.
In statements to the Spanish medium Relief Llorente stated: “This morning at five o’clock we left with two vans that we had loaded yesterday with Kärchers. I just help where I can, I don’t do anything special. Everyone shows solidarity and we as players are just a group that does our part.” Llorente’s act was obviously well received by the local residents, who subsequently expressed their gratitude.
