Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 November the Léo-Lagrange sports center in Riorges welcomed the 15 e edition of the Riorges Open, organized by the Dojo riorgeois and which has become a flagship competition in the Roanne sporting landscape.
For the first time in the history of the Riorges Judo Open, more than 1,000 fighters took to the Riorges tatamis this year. In total, there were 1,094 judokas during the two days of competition (709 for Saturday and 385 children on Sunday).
Saturday was dedicated to the cadet (U17) and junior (U14) categories, while Sunday was reserved for the youngest (baby-judokas, mini-chicks, chicks and benjamins).
This judo competition has become an event which has a strong appeal, since most of the clubs of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes League were represented on Saturday during the junior and junior tournaments, without forgetting the presence of numerous clubs from outside Auvergne- Rhône-Alpes (Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Avignon, Joinville, etc.). On Sunday, many clubs from the Roanne region, but also from the mountains of Tarare or Forez and the Plaine Forézienne were there on the Riorgeois lands, among the youngest.
