National Women’s Basketball Team beat Romania, which it hosted in the 3rd match of FIBA 2025 European Championship Qualifiers Group F, 101-54 with a difference of 47 points.
Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak, President of the Turkish Basketball Federation Hidayet Türkoğlu and members of the board of directors also followed the match on site.
The Crescent-Stars team started the match effectively and gained a 10 to 5 advantage in the 4th minute. The national team, who made good use of the painted area against the guest team, who held on to the match with consecutive hits from behind the three-point line, finished the first quarter with a 25-16 advantage.
Romania entered the second quarter well, scored points with Ghita and Armanu and reduced the difference to 5 points in the 11th minute: 27-22. The national team quickly recovered and increased the difference to double digits (32-22) with McCovan in the 12th minute. Increasing the difference to more than 20 points (44-23) for the first time in the match with Sevgi Uzun’s layup in the 16th minute, the Crescent-Stars team increased the difference to 31 points with Tilbe Şenyürek in the 19th minute: 56-25. Türkiye went to the locker room ahead 58-31.
Having entered the final period with a 78-41 advantage, the Crescent and Stars team won 101-54 on the court.
