The boards of SV Dalfsen, ASC ’62 and FC Dalfsen have expressed the intention to continue research into the possibilities of a merger between the associations. In the context of this ambition, new steps have been taken in the composition of the Merger Research Steering Group. Werner Snel has been appointed as the new chairman and Chris Smit has been found willing to act as an external advisor to guide and support the process.
The merger research steering group now consists of board members Werner Snel, Mirjam Dijsselhof, Herwi Westera, Bram Uitslag, Marijn Huzen and Karin van Ringen. Chris Smit is also involved in the steering group as an external advisor.
Bert Visscher, chairman of ASC ’62, expresses his confidence in the new composition of the steering group: “With the knowledge and connecting qualities of Werner Snel, combined with the managerial experience of Chris Smit in the field of previous merger investigations, we believe that we can take great steps.”
Dirk Mosterman, chairman of SV Dalfsen, adds: “We look with confidence at the further development of the merger investigation. As associations we have stated that more attention should be paid to connection. It is important that we involve all members in this process so that everyone feels heard and valued. By working more together and sharing information, we can lay a foundation for a possible joint future, while preserving the strength and identity of each association.”
Wladimir Nijenhuis, chairman of the FC Dalfsen youth department, emphasizes the importance of these steps and the cooperation between all boards: “It is important for youth that they can continue to enjoy football, now and in the future. This merger research offers us the opportunity to jointly build a strong foundation for the future of football in Dalfsen, where every player can develop optimally and playing fun is central.
More attention to communication
Werner Snel, chairman of the Merger Research Steering Group, indicates that communication will be more central in the further process: “I am grateful for the trust of both associations to fulfill this role. The first consultation with the steering group has now taken place. It was decided to pay more attention to communication. In addition, together with the working groups, we will develop a clear step-by-step plan towards the voting moment in early 2026. In this way we create clarity for everyone about the progress of the merger investigation. It is nice that we are supported by Chris Smit, who is involved as a management coach from the province of Overijssel.”
Stemmoment 2025/2026
“Care takes precedence over speed, and we think it is important that everyone is given the space to share their ideas about a possible merger. That is why we have decided, of course in consultation with the chairmen of ASC’62, SV Dalfsen and FC Dalfsen, to adhere to the original timetable and not to continue with the previously announced acceleration of the voting moment,” Werner Snel continues.
