Bayern Munich beats the league leaders, Alba Berlin remains at the bottom: The German teams continue to live in different worlds in the EuroLeague. While basketball champions Bayern Munich also defeated leaders Zalgiris Kaunas, coached by former FCB coach Andrea Trinchieri, 77:74 (38:28) and celebrated their sixth win on matchday eight, Alba conceded 71:92 (32:41) to Red Star Belgrade‘s seventh defeat in the premier class.
Carsen Edwards stood out in Munich with 24 points for world champion coach Gordon Herbert’s team, which almost lost a 14-point lead (31st minute) in the final minutes. Alba, on the other hand, finds itself in a deep crisis, and in the Bundesliga things are hardly going any better for the eleven-time champions, given only two wins from the first seven games. The top scorer of the game was Berlin’s Italian guard Gabriele Procida with 25 points.
