Children’s opera at the weekend: Children’s opera David and Jonathan in Petrikirche

Around 30 children’s voices make St. Peter’s Church sing when the Singing School‘s A and B choirs perform their annual children’s opera. “David and Jonathan” by Gerd-Peter Münden is on Saturday, November 9th. Premiere at 5 p.m. in the Petrikirche on Pastor-Barnstein-Platz.

We meet the little shepherd boy David, who fights against the giant Goliath. He befriends Saul’s son Jonathan and is consecrated king himself. How will this affect their friendship?

The opera for children and adults is accompanied by an instrumental ensemble. The direction is by Wanja van Suntum, and the overall musical direction is by cantor Christoph Gerthner. Further performances of “David and Jonathan” will take place on Sunday, November 10th. at 5 p.m. and on Monday, November 11th. in the morning at 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. The performances on Monday are aimed exclusively at school classes.

Admission is €4 for children and €10 for adults. Tickets are available at the box office or can be reserved in advance at [email protected]. There are still tickets available, especially for Sunday.
