Dear OGs,
The new football season has now been going on for two months. It is nice to see that the fields are filled again with boys and girls of all ages during the week and on Saturdays. Youth have the future and that is why it is great to announce in this newsletter that a youth board has been formed. The youth board will commit itself to further shaping and improving the youth department of Onze Gezellen.
In this newsletter, the youth board would like to introduce itself to everyone and briefly explain what they are going to work on.
Who are we?
A picture says more than a thousand words. Below you can see who we are!
Together we have played football for perhaps 100 years in various OG teams and we have a total of 16 children in the youth department of the club, ranging from the minis to the JO16. In addition to watching our sons or daughters, we enjoy performing various volunteer tasks, such as youth trainer, coach, coordinator, referee, event organizer, grounds service and bar staff. If you don’t know us yet, you will probably do so in the coming period.
What are we working on?
Together with the board, we have thought about what OG wants to stand for. And that is the following:
Onze Gezellen is a warm and financially healthy football club where everyone, young and old, can realize personal development and sporting ambitions. A club where you can have a lot of fun in a socially safe environment and have an unforgettable club experience. We believe in respect for each other and in the power of the team, where lifelong friendships are created and where you can be proud of what you achieve together. Parents, volunteers and everyone involved contribute enthusiastically to a club where everyone feels at home.
Such a mission also includes a vision and underlying objectives. We will share more about this in future newsletters. To achieve these objectives, we have identified a number of themes from which we will work and for which we can of course use a lot of help. Would you also like to help with one of the themes? Please! We hope to see your email soon [email protected].
The themes:
1.Sports Development
To achieve the mission, we want to establish a new policy that addresses points such as development, tasks, roles, responsibilities, training (for players and coaches), team compositions and fun for everyone. This applies emphatically to both boys’ and girls’ football.
2.Recruitment and Retention
We really want to encourage children in the youngest age categories to come and play football for Onze Gezellen and make it so much fun that they always want to stay with us.
3.Cooperation
This concerns both internal cooperation and external cooperation with other associations, schools and organizations. How can we connect and become more attractive to members, neighbors and sponsors?
4.Volunteers
We need you! After all, many hands make light work! How can we get everyone to connect and contribute in a fun way?
5.Safety and Well-being
A safe environment is extremely important. How can we ensure that everyone feels comfortable and how do we safeguard that?
6.Communication
Which communication tools do we want/can we use to keep everyone informed of all important and fun matters regarding our youth department, and how do we implement this?
7.Activities and Events
Like every year, we organize various youth events, including the Zeskamp, the Winter Tournament and a Sinterklaas morning. Due to the 100th anniversary, various activities are also being organized this year by the Jubilee Committee. We are also represented in this committee and you can help.
