A Mainvillois at the French parabadminton championship

Laurent Thieulin participated, on the weekend of November 1st to 3rd, in the French parabadminton championship which took place in Valence, in the Drôme.

This is the first time that the member of Bapama28, the Mainvilliers badminton club, has participated in a competition of this level, having discovered wheelchair badminton barely two years ago. He is the only one today to practice parabad in Eure-et-Loir.

More than a hundred competitors competed in the 2024 edition, including eight badistas who participated in the Paris Paralympic Games. “I played against strong guys who have 10 to 15 years of wheelchair practice,” testified Laurent Thieulin who took advantage of this competition to continue to progress.

Against the future champion of France

Throughout the weekend, he faced his one-day opponents, and notably played against Caen’s Sébastien Martin, future French champion, losing honorably 21-9 and 21-10.

“It was a great experience and a beautiful weekend that I was able to experience and share with Séverine Cornevin, the president of the Eure-et-Loir committee, and thanks to Alice Sémichon, from Bapama, who introduced me accompanied with his car throughout these three days of competition.

Veterans. This weekend, a delegation of four Bapama players will go to the French veterans championship, in Baisieux (North).
