Another NFL game will be played in Munich’s Allianz Arena on November 10th. The Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt will have to go without in 2024.
Frankfurt/New York City – The National Football League is coming back to Germany. It is the third year in a row that the NFL has played a regular season game in this country. After quarterback legend Tom Brady played with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers against the Seattle Seahawks in Munich in 2022, two duels took place in Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt in 2023. On Sunday, November 10th, the New York Giants will meet the Carolina Panthers – in the Allianz Arena.
For fans in the USA, it is a game that only the supporters of the two teams will watch. Especially since the game starts at 3:30 p.m. German time – and therefore at 9:30 a.m. local time in New York and North Carolina. There is currently no team that has fewer wins than the Giants or the Panthers. Four other clubs also started the season with just two wins and seven defeats. The Miami Dolphins, who were guests in Frankfurt in 2023, currently have one game less and have a record of two wins to six defeats.
NFL Frankfurt Games: When will it be Deutsche Bank Park’s turn again?
In any case, only this one duel will be played in Munich. In 2023, Frankfurt was fortunate that the NFL was unable to allow a planned game of its “International Series” to take place in Mexico City because the Aztec Stadium there was under renovation with a view to the 2026 World Cup in Mexico, the USA and Canada. So the Waldstadion was quickly awarded the contract twice.
This also means that in 2025 the Main metropolis can look forward to NFL football again – but this time it will almost certainly only be one game. Frankfurt and Munich alternate for the “Germany Games”. Another venue is currently not being discussed. What will happen after 2025 is still up in the air. The agreement with the NFL to play games in Germany is currently only valid until next year. However, quit NFL Germany boss Alexander Steinforth At the end of October, the dpa announced: “This will not be the last game on German soil. We are firmly planning on Germany as an NFL game location in the future.”
Who will initially meet in Deutsche Bank Park in 2025 has not yet been announced.
