A few days before the start of the I Eje Cafetero National Youth and Parayouth Games, the government of Quindío announced the value of the economic incentives that will be given to Quindian athletes for winning gold, silver and bronze medals.
During the sports implementation ceremony, Juan Miguel Galvis Bedoya, governor of Quindío, announced that the prizes will be distributed depending on the category, whether individual, duet or group.
How will the incentives for athletes be distributed?
Individual Category:
- Gold medal: 7 million 500 thousand pesos.
- Silver Medal: 3 million 500 thousand pesos.
- Bronze Medal: 1 million 500 thousand pesos.
In the event that the athlete wins two medals, the full amount will be given; When there are more than three, the full value of the first two and 50% of the following will be awarded.
Duet category:
In this category the value of the medals is equal, in this case the prize will be divided between the two athletes in equal parts, that is, if a duet wins the gold that corresponds to more than 7 million, the value for each one is 3 million 750 thousand pesos.
Group Category:
- Gold medal: 4 million pesos.
- Silver Medal: 2 million pesos.
- Bronze Medal: 1 million pesos.
This value corresponds to each member of the team sports that conquer the podium.
158 athletes will be representing Quindío in these national competitions in disciplines such as athletics, badminton, basketball, handball, boxing, BMX, cycling, among others.
