Aragua deploys its delegation at the 2024 National Youth Sports Games

With a display of enthusiasm and pride, the governor of Aragua, Karina Carpio, yesterday said goodbye to the delegations that will represent the state in the Oriente 2024 National Youth Sports Games. The young athletes left for the states of Monagas, Sucre and Anzoátegui with the firm intention to give their best and seek victory in this important sporting contest.

In an emotional ceremony held at the facilities of the Aragua Regional Sports Institute (IRDA), Carpio expressed his confidence in the talent and dedication of the athletes. “Today is a day of joy. Dreams are born here and we are sure that the effort and sacrifice of each of you will bear fruit. From Aragua, I am sure that we are going to come loaded with medals,” the regional leader stated with determination.

The president of the IRDA, Jorge Briceño, also highlighted the preparation and dedication that the young athletes have shown. “Here we are starting this sporting contest that began a year ago. Our young athletes are fully prepared and focused to leave the name of the state of Aragua at the top,” he said, underlining the importance of teamwork and perseverance.

The first advance included athletes who will compete in disciplines such as fencing, judo, table tennis, men’s volleyball, field tennis, softball and cycling (track, road and MTB). In a second phase, 37 young Aragüeños joined the delegation to participate in track and road cycling, judo and men’s court volleyball.

The road to these Games has not been easy. Consistency, discipline and daily work have been essential for these athletes to represent their state in an event of such magnitude.

The effort of the regional government has been equally significant, providing supplies of sports equipment such as shoes, balls and uniforms, as well as food supplies and logistical support.

The Aragüeño team faced the hosts of Monagas and although they suffered a defeat, the Aragüeño athletes have a new opportunity to shine in their next match against the state of Miranda, where they will seek to qualify for the quarterfinals of the tournament.

The next challenge will be crucial. The athletes will face Caracas in the last match of the group stage in beach volleyball, scheduled for tomorrow at 7 pm at the Maturín Sports Center sand complex. Expectations are high and the support of the Aragüeño people is present in every step these young athletes take.

With love, effort and an indomitable spirit, Aragua is preparing to leave its mark in the 2024 National Youth Sports Games. The community looks forward to seeing its representatives shine in each competition and carry with them the pride of the state.
