The 47-year-old woman had to be evacuated from the massif when she tried to reach the summit.
The tourist from La Plata suffered an injury to one of her knees, so the rescue protocol was immediately activated. Brigade members, gendarmes and park rangers coordinated forces to carry out a major operation at 2,300 meters above sea level on the Lanín volcano.
Two teams of brigade members from the Junín de los Andes operational center, four gendarmes from Squadron No. 33 and one more member who remains at the base of the Lanín volcano participated in the rescue. We also worked with two park rangers who are in the Report Center where all communications are attended to.
The event took place when this Thursday morning the tourist began the ascent to the summit of the Lanín volcano together with a guide.
