The Memphis Grizzlies and the Washington Wizards meet for the first time in the 2024-2025 NBA regular season. This clash will take place at FedExForum, on the Grizzlies floor. Presenting a record of 5 wins for 4 losses since the resumption, Memphis is ninth in the Western Conference after the first 3 weeks of competition. The return of Ja Morant has logically done a lot of good for his franchise, and after a delicate start (3 defeats in the first 5 games), things are going much better for the team coached by Taylor Jenkins, who emerged victorious on 3 occasions during his last 4 appearances on the floor despite the absences of Desmond Bane and Marcus Smart.
Washington operates in a series of 2 matches in this 2024-2025 season. After their 2 heavy inaugural defeats against the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Boston Celtics, the Wizards reacted very well by beating the Atlanta Hawks 2 times in a row. This improvement was, however, short-lived since 2 new home losses followed (Miami Heat and Golden State Warriors), which put Washington in 11th place in the Eastern Conference. If they stay in this pattern, Brian Keefe’s players should win in Memphis… but everyone knows that it doesn’t work like that in sport, and it is the Grizzlies who are the big favorites for this meeting.
