After the Europa League game between Ajax Amsterdam and Maccabi Tel Aviv on Thursday evening, groups in the city attacked Israeli fans. They “actively sought out Israeli fans in order to attack and mistreat them,” the city and police said in a statement. David Beseemer is chairman of Maccabi Europe, a Jewish organization that is active in 40 European countries and, among other things, runs sports clubs. She is based in Amsterdam, where Beseemer lives.
