The Yankees have scheduled a meeting with Juan Soto as they prepare to make their proposal to renew with their star, according to a New York Post report published on Friday.
Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner is expected to travel to California in about a week and a half to meet with the Dominican.
The Mets They would also have scheduled a visit with Soto for next weekbut according to the New York Post report, the Yankees have received assurances that they will still be able to reunite with Soto after that date.
The New York rivals are two of the main favorites to sign Sotothe most coveted free agent on the market this winter.
Soto had arguably the best season of his career in 2024 after the Yankees acquired him from the Padres in a high-profile trade last December. The 26-year-old hit .288 with 41 home runs, 109 RBIs, 128 runs scored and a .989 OPS, leading New York to the American League title.
