VIVA – PB Djarum retained the overall title at the Polytron Governor’s Cup 2024 held at GOR Djarum Jati, Kudus, Central Java from Monday, November 4 to Saturday, November 9, 2024.

This championship is an official nationwide competition included in the PBSI calendar so that competing athletes also have the opportunity to earn points as capital to play at a higher level such as the PBSI 2024 National Championship and Sirnas Premier.

Chairman of the Politron Governor’s Cup 2024 Organizing Committee Yuni Kartika thanked the enthusiasm of 1,169 athletes from 207 clubs throughout Indonesia who demonstrated their ability to record achievements and are ready to compete for prizes worth a total of 471 million IDR.

Additionally, the 2024 Polytron Governor’s Cup is a preparatory event for athletes to advance to the grade level. Uni hopes that through this nationwide competition athletes can be encouraged to hone their skills.

“In this event we will definitely be able to measure how the athletes of each club in Indonesia are developing, and then it will be an evaluation material for the coaches, both physically, technically and mentally. “According to PBSI, we definitely have the potential level. see badminton players in the future,” Yuni said.

The Secretary General of PBSI Central Java, Dr. Iswoyo, SP, MP appreciates that the Politron Governor’s Cup 2024 has managed to attract the attention and enthusiasm of the community from coaching clubs with age categories. Through regular competitions at the national level, Iswoyo hopes that the resurgence of young athletes can continue.

“Every year, the enthusiasm of the participants is always good, especially because this competition has points that can increase the athletes’ ranking. Of course, this is what attracts clubs from all over Indonesia. “Therefore, we hope that cultivation and rehabilitation can be sustainable for the sustainability of badminton on the world stage,” Iswoyo said.

Politron district marketing head Khandojo Jayadi said sports is an important element that must continue, especially in finding potential seeds by creating a place for athletes to compete.

This is done to increase the flying hours of athletes competing in the field. New good quality badminton players are expected to emerge to make the Indonesian nation proud in the future.

“We are very happy with the high participation of participants in the Politron Governor Cup 2024. We are sure that there will be more and more outstanding Indonesian badminton players who can compete at a higher level. “We congratulate the winners and maintain the spirit of sportsmanship,” Khandojo Jayadi said.

One of the PB Djarum athletes who played in the women’s singles division in the Under-13 category, Nafla Berli Syajira Al Habsi, won the title after defeating her PB Djarum teammate, Laura Leidisia, in three matches, 21- 23. 21-15, 21-19.

Nafla knew how to play calmly, although there were many long plays and the game was very intense, so he finally managed to avenge his disappointment from last year.

“In the 2023 Polytron Governor’s Cup, I only had three podiums. But this year I am determined to train hard. The match was very exhausting until the last set. I tried to stay behind in points. “I am very happy to have finally won,” Nafla said.

Similarly, in the U-17 boys doubles category, Mohammad Khosda Alfagan, paired with Mohammad Lutfi Habibi of PB Djarum, managed to beat Faza Iwadh Kurnia Ramdhan/Hazel Rizqi twice in three long matches 21-19, 25 to defeat to Prasetyo. 27, 21-11. Alfa-Lutfi’s accurate shot defeated the rival and he could not return the ball.

“The match with Faza/Hazel was exhausting because of the rubber game. Even in the second game the score was even, the match was very intense and ended in a defeat. Although it was tense, it was overcome. “In the third round we came back and became champions,” Alfa said.

Lutfi added that although it was difficult, this match was very memorable. Their fight was not in vain: “This match made us more united and tougher physically and mentally, also in preparation for the Sirnas Premier.”

The 2024 Politron Governor’s Cup will compete in 21 categories. The numbers of singles and women have the largest age division, including the age groups U11 (early age), U13 (children), U15 (divisions), U17 (teenagers) and U19 (cadets).

Meanwhile, men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles will only be played in the U15 (beginner), U17 (junior) and U19 (cadet) age categories.

In addition to Polytron, the tournament was also held thanks to the full support of the Djarum Foundation Sports Service and several other sponsors such as Milklife, Caffino, Kopi Tubuk Gadjah, Blibli, FOX’s, Hundred and Cleo.
