Neuquén celebrates 14 gold medals at the Evita Games

The Neuquén delegation closed its participation in Mar del Plata with 21 medals, standing out in adapted sports.

The Neuquén delegation said goodbye to the Evita National Sports Games in Mar del Plata with a total of 21 medals: 14 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze. The team was celebrated by the Ministry of Human Development, Local Governments and Women, through the Secretariat of Sports and Youth, which highlighted the outstanding participation in the adapted sport modality, where the largest number of medals were obtained during the six days of the contest.

On the closing day at Bristol Beach, the women’s beach handball team faced Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires, coming in second place with a silver medal after a tight 2-0 defeat with a golden goal. Meanwhile, the men’s team obtained fifth place after beating Chubut.

The skate representative, Santiago Basly, from San Patricio del Chañar, reached fourth place in the championship round, achieving an outstanding place among the eight best in the country. In field hockey, the women’s team was ranked among the top eight after a tight loss against Córdoba, while the men’s team finished in 18th position. In women’s rugby, Neuquén placed in eighth place.

In taekwondo, Neuquén managed to position itself among the eight best provinces, with Jazmín Torres in fifth place in the 44 kilo category and Geovani Petrelli in seventh place in the 46 kilo category.

The Neuquén delegation traveled with 179 athletes who competed in 20 disciplines, including athletics, swimming and adapted table tennis. In these disciplines, people with disabilities were protagonists, adding the largest number of medals in line with the Provincial Plan for Physical Activity, Sports and Recreation, which prioritizes inclusion in sports.

The delegation included athletes from different locations, such as Rincón de los Sauces, Chos Malal, San Martín de los Andes, Aluminé, Picún Leufú, Zapala, Cutral Co, Plaza Huincul, Añelo, Villa Pehuenia, San Patricio del Chañar and Plottier, in addition from Neuquén capital.

  • Briana Navarrete (swimming): 50m freestyle, 50m breaststroke, 50m butterfly and 50m backstroke multiclass.
  • Samuel Concha (swimming): 50m freestyle, 50m breaststroke, 50m butterfly and 50m backstroke multiclass.
  • Ángeles Atala González (swimming): 50m breaststroke.
  • Emir Prado (swimming): 25m breaststroke.
  • Mateo Sepúlveda (athletics): long jump and 100m.
  • Máximo Rettig (badminton).
  • Badminton team: Maxim Rettig, Francisco Cappi, Milagros Berraondo and Pia Gutierrez.

  • Guadalupe Soto (athletics): 100m.
