Fulfilling the mandate in convening the National Commission of Physical Culture and Sports (CONADE) through the Veracruzano Sports Institute (IVD) on the basis of articles 110, 115 and 117 of the General Law of Physical Culture; 3 and 84 of its regulations, the inoculation process was carried out during which the members of the qualifying jury for the 2023 State Sports Award were chosen.
The ceremony took place in the presence of Notary number 52 of the seventeenth notarial district, Mr. Carlos Enrique Levet Rivera, who gave faith and legality to the process of choosing the members of the qualifying jury, which will define the winners of the State Sports Award 2023, which will be held on October 23rd at the facilities of the Veracruzano Sports Institute.
It should be noted that the State Sports Award is awarded for the results obtained from 11 October 2022 to 15 October 2023, and with this the proposals for the 2023 State Sports Award have been defined in the categories Best adapted athlete, best conventional athlete, best adapted coach, best conventional coach and sports promotion, where a total of 29 proposals were received.
The event was chaired by the general director of the IVD, José Alberto Nava Lozano, accompanied by the deputy director of Sports Development, Jorge Armando García Bautista, as well as the deputy administrative director, Mariana Sosa Morales and the technical secretary, Amelia. Martinez Mendoza.
The insaculation of the jury was entrusted to the Sports Quality Department, headed by Soledad González Espejo, as well as the Sports Talent and High Performance Office, headed by Diego Armando Leyva.
The winner of the best coach of the PED 2022, Antonio Aguilar Palacios, thanked the Sports Institute of Veracruzano for being part of the jury to choose the 2023 State Sports Award.

For her part, the winner of the best athlete of the PED 2022, Samantha Jiménez Santos, mentioned the responsibility she has as jury of the 2023 State Sports Award, adding that there are many athletes from Veracruz with great careers.
“I really want to thank you for inviting me, it is an honor to be here, I won the award last year and I believe that you need to read the CVs well, there is a lot of talent, very good athletes in the state of Veracruz, and the one who if he or the winner will deserve it.
There were a total of 29 proposals distributed in different categories, in the Best Adapted Athlete category will participate: Daniel Hernández Luna and Gerardo Hernández Rodríguez in para powerlifting, Diego López Díaz in para swimming, Javier de Jesús Rubio Márquez in the discipline of paralympic athletics , María Barbara Wetzel Aguilar in women’s artistic gymnastics and Rebeca Hernández in paralympic swimming.
As regards the Best Conventional Athlete category, the proposals are as follows: Andrea Álvarez López in Fencing, Daniel Garzón Martínez, Hanne Estrada, Iker Leal Juárez and Ximena Garzón Martínez in Tennis, Emily Xochicale in Boxing, Joanna Zilli González in Indoor Volleyball , José Hugo Marín and Mariola García in Elastic Gymnastics, Lizbeth Nolasco in Weightlifting, Marcó Daniel Méndez in skateboarding, Marisela Escobar Falcón and Susana Hernández Barradas in swimming, Regina Minerva in surfing and Viviana del Ángel Peniche in Clavados.
In the category best adapted sports coach Mariela Ferrer Sánchez. And in the category of the best conventional coach, Carlos Polo Romero Montes, Joel Mackenzie Diaz, José de Jesús Romo Velasco, José Luis Artiles de León and Leandro David Ramos Ramos will participate. In the context of the Promotion and Protection of Sport, two proposals were presented: Eduardo Alberto Chávez García and José Alberto Olivares Galicia.
For its part, the qualifying jury for the 2023 State Sports Award, Mtro, has been established in the sporting field. Oscar Osbaldo Hernández Pérez, director of Federalized Physical Education, Mtro. Miguel Ángel Ochoa García, as well as representatives of state sports associations, Mtro. Antonio Rojas Ortega, of the Badminton Association of Veracruz, Lic. Emilio Morales Gómez, State Baseball Association of Veracruz, Lic. Héctor Etviene Torres Fitch, General Director of El Águila de Veracruz.
The jury chosen by the media, Julio Mora Olivo of El Dictamen, Miguel Rocha Solano of Super Deportivo RN and Miguel Ángel Gómez Scagno of Notiver, closes with Professor Antonio Aguilar Palacios, winning coach of the PED in 2020 and athlete currently winning the Samantha Jiménez Santos , State Sports Award, will be part of the qualifying jury.
Finally, the director of the Veracruzano Sports Institute, LEF.
