The Evita National Games came to an end and the province of Río Negro did not go unnoticed. With 72 medals collected, he shared the winners’ podium with Córdoba and Santa Fe, the latter taking first place.
The provincial delegation arrived in Mar del Plata with great expectations and from the first minute began to be the protagonist in the different venues prepared to compete in the 5 days of competition.
The sports program included 36 disciplines (conventional and adapted) in which Río Negro showed not only a great spirit of participation, but also talent and attitude to reach the top. In total there were 32 gold medals, 22 silver and 18 bronze.
Through his social networks, Governor Weretilneck highlighted “the dedication and effort of our young athletes and especially our adapted sports athletes, who became champions in their category.”
“This triumph reflects the transformative power of sport in the lives of our young people, their commitment and the constant effort that led them to represent our province with pride in each competition. A milestone that reaffirms the strength and spirit of Río Negro in the Argentine sport!” said the President.
The Minister of Human Development, Sports and Culture, Juan Pablo Muena, pointed out that “it is the true Rio Negro pride, where there is nothing more than applauding them. In such an adverse context, it was a very important political decision by Governor Alberto Weretilneck to be able to arrive and participate in the Games.”
Likewise, the Secretary of Sports, Nahuel Astutti added that “this speaks of the sporting commitment we have in Río Negro; “We are very happy because the objective has been achieved, not only because of the results but because the young people were able to live a wonderful experience.”
The disciplines in which the athletes participated were rugby, taekwondo, canoeing, judo, bmx freestyle, freestyle, futsal, beach handball, hockey, basketball, beach volleyball, swimming, Olympic lifting, wrestling, volleyball, artistic gymnastics, table tennis , athletics, cycling, karate, boxing, badminton, archery, triathlon, tennis, sports shooting and skate in the conventional modality, as well as in the entire adapted modality (table tennis, goalball, boccia, wheelchair basketball, swimming and athletics.
