Should transform India into a sports powerhouse, says International badminton player Trupti Murugunde : Welcome to Mysooru News

Mysuru: “To make India, a nation that wins more medals in the 2036 Olympics, we need to train and commit to transforming India into a sports powerhouse,” said Dhyan Chand Award recipient, Trupti Murugunde.

Inaugurating the 38th All India Postal Badminton Tournament at the Chamundi Vihar Sports Complex on Sunday, she emphasised the need for more support in the Indian sports sector.

She mentioned that gatherings of all age groups for such tournaments are rare and pointed out that success doesn’t come easily.

According to her own experiences, only by facing challenges at each stage can one enjoy the joy of victory.

She explained the various challenges athletes must overcome.

Murugunde stressed the need to change the mindset of the country’s people. To make India a true sports nation, parents must encourage their children to participate in sports.

She praised the postal network as a fitting medium to connect with and inspire the sports community.

The event was presided over by Chief Postmaster General of Karnataka Circle and Principal Chairperson of the 38th All India Postal Badminton Tournament, S Rajendra Kumar.

He noted that the postal department not only supports this tournament but parallely flagged off Women’s Bike Rally promoting, Dhai Akhar, National level letter writing competition.

The competition will continue until the second week of December and he invited interested participants to write letters.

He also extended his best wishes to all the participants from the 20 postal circles.

Postmaster General of the North Karnataka Postal Region Colonel Sushil Kumar, Bengaluru Headquarter Region’s Postmaster General L K Dash, Postmaster General of the South Karnataka Postal Region Dr Chandra Sekhar Kakumanu and seniors officers of the Department were present at the inauguration.
