Olympic Judo Forio: loads of medals in Riccione!

A more than positive experience for our boys at the Olympic Judo Forio just concluded in Riccione. An amazing two days with many successes and moments of growth for an increasingly close-knit group.

“The 39th edition of the Csen National Championship in Riccione has just ended for the Forio judo boys. Competing to represent the island of Ischia and in particular Forio were 17 young judokas – they write to us from the edge of the tatami – Yesterday, Saturday 9 November, our 7 debutants aged 12 to 14 took to the National tatami, competing against dozens of athletes from from all over Italy.

In order:

SCHIANO Nicole 12 years 2nd place and National Silver Medal

PATALANO Renee 13 years old 3rd place and National Bronze Medal

MANZI Antonio 14 years old 3rd place and National Bronze Medal

ACCINELLI Sara 14 years old 5th place National.

Good performances but far from the podium area for DELLA SPERANZA Ciro (12 years), PICCIOCCHI Carmine (14 years), PATALANO Ian (12 years).

Today, Sunday 10 November, saw our Cadets and Under 23s take to the Riccione tatami. Judo Forio expressed and confirmed the good competitive level achieved with the conquest of several medals and podiums. In order:

SBROGNA Simone UNDER 23 22 years old 1st place and National Gold Medal

DI MAIO Christian UNDER 23 19 years old 1st place and National Gold Medal

BIANCULLI Giulia UNDER 23 – 20 years 2nd place and National Silver Medal

RUGGIERO Samuel Cadetti 15 years 2nd place and National Silver Medal

MATTER Fabio UNDER 23 18 years old 3rd place and National Bronze Medal

OLD MAN Ernesto UNDER 23 18 years old 5th place National.

RUGGIERO Vittoria Cadetti 17 years old 5th place National.

IACONO Federica Cadetti 15 years 7th place National.

Still far from the podium despite a good performance BARBIERI Emanuel Pio UNDER 23 and COCAN Gianmarco CADETTI.

We are about to return to the island of Ischia at the end of a very long trip to Emilia which lasted almost 4 days. We return with the awareness that we are on the right path to obtaining increasingly important results. 8 medals won in Riccione. Starting tomorrow we’ll be working to prepare for the final of the Italian A1 Fijlkam Cup which will be played at Lido di Ostia Rome in 2 weeks.”

Well done guys!
