Strong performance from the 1st Fulda Judo Club! At the Hessian team championships in the U15 age group, the “kampfgemeinschaft 1. Fuldaer Judo-Club / TSG Nordwest Frankfurt” secured the Hessen championship title and qualified for the German U15 team championship in Senftenberg at the end of November. Michelle Müller and Franziska Lomb competed for the Homburg gymnastics community in the U18 age group and were also able to secure the title. Also Fabian Hohmann, who took third place with the U18 men’s team.

Last weekend couldn’t have gone better for the young athletes of the 1st Fulda Judo Club. The Hessian Judo Association invited people to the Hessian team championship in the U15 and U18 age groups. Otherwise as a “lone fighter” on the mat, this event made it possible to compete as a team. A team in the U15 male age group consisted of five weight classes -40, -46, -55, -66, +66 kg. Each weight class fought against each other once and the team that had more victories in the individual weight classes won. The goal was a podium finish in order to qualify for the German U15 team championship in Senftenberg at the end of November.

At the start as the “kampfgemeinschaft 1. Fuldaer Judo-Club / TSG Nordwest Frankfurt”, the boys left nothing to be desired and ultimately secured 1st place in three exciting encounters against the “kampfgemeinschaft HTG / JC Wiesbaden” and thus the well-deserved Hessen championship title. The team would like to thank the company HUBTEX, which supported the young judokas with uniform team judogi in black and thereby strengthened the “we feeling”.

The following were in action for the U15 team:

Vincent Siebert -40kg (TSG Nordwest)
Julian Fabel, Ben Hartmann -46kg (Fulda)
Aaron Joshua Keller -46kg (TSG Northwest)
Felix Sommerhoff, Ivan Fedorenko -55kg (Fulda)
Max Schlaudraff, Maximilian Michel, Adrian Schenkel -66kg (Fulda)
Michal Szymanski +66kg (Fulda) Michelle Müller and Franziska Lomb, who competed for the female team of the Homburg gymnastics community in the U18 age group, were also able to secure the Hessen championship title. Fabian Hohmann, another Fulda judoka, was also represented in the male U18 from the Homburg gymnastics community, and he was able to win a bronze medal with his team. Both teams have qualified for the Southwest German U18 team championship. Here we have to fight for a podium place again in order to qualify for the German U18 team championship in Senftenberg at the end of November.

Solve success

The club is proud of these great successes of its judokas. “Participating in a competition as a team is something special for the athletes. The emotions at the edge of the mat, cheering together and celebrating the successes – that’s what brings a team together,” says coach Mike Thiel happily. (kg/pm) +++

Another Hessen championship title went to the Homburg gymnastics community’s U18 team, for which the two Fulda judoka Franziska Lomb and Michelle Müller are active.
