“We are very happy about the new hall floor”: The handball players from TV Solothurn also criticize
The handball players are not entirely happy about the new floor. The president of TV Solothurn is irritated by the conspicuous badminton markings and regrets that the club will have to pay for the necessary special cleaning itself in the future.
The handball club TV Solothurn had repeatedly defended itself against the “uneven and dangerous hall floor” in the CIS. But their criticism and safety concerns had no effect for years: the floor of the sports center, which is now called So-active, remained dilapidated. The change in ownership this year brought the turning point. Donovan Cuntapay immediately began renovating the floor, which has now been completed.
“We are very happy about the new hall floor,” says Gaudenz Oetterli, President of the TV Solothurn handball club. The renovation was urgently necessary. But the club members are not entirely satisfied.
The new floor is designed specifically for badminton, which irritates the club as its previous main user, reports Oetterli. The handball field used to be demarcated by color, which enabled quick orientation during the match.
In the future, the club will have to pay for special cleaning itself
The long duration of the renovation also caused problems for the handball club, as Oetterli reports. Instead of the announced three weeks, installation took seven weeks. The association therefore had to switch to other communities, which led to high costs.
In addition, there will be a further burden on the club’s treasury in the future: the building contract between the municipality and the sports center is currently being revised. In the future, there will be no need for special cleaning, which is required due to the adhesive of the handballs. Therefore, the club itself has to pay for removing the resin residue from the hall floor. If there were to be a complete ban on the Harz Mountains, the club would no longer be able to train in Solothurn, says Oetterli. (fot)
