Neuquén said goodbye to Mar del Plata with 14 gold medals

Twelve of these medals were obtained by adapted sport disciplines. In addition, the delegation obtained four silver and three bronze medals.

The Ministry of Human Development, Local Governments and Women, through the Secretariat of Sports and Youth, highlighted the participation of the Neuquén delegation in the Evita National Sports Games, which added a total of 21 medals: 14 gold; 4 silver and 3 bronze. Adapted sport was the modality in which the greatest number of medals were obtained during the six days of the contest, which was held in Mar del Plata.

This Saturday, on the closing day that took place on the popular Bristol beach, the women’s beach handball team was unable to beat Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires, which won 2-0 with a golden goal. The Neuquén team kept the silver medal without being able to repeat the title they achieved last year, but with the satisfaction of being once again among the two best teams in the country.

Meanwhile, the men’s team, which had also just become champion, defeated Chubut 2 to 0 and took fifth place.

In the skate competition, the representative of San Patricio del Chañar, Santiago Basly, managed to get among the eight best in the country, qualifying for the championship round, an instance in which he fought for the medal, staying very close to the podium with a fourth place behind Chubut , San Juan and Misiones.

Women’s field hockey ranked among the top eight after losing 2-1 to Córdoba, while the men were in 18th place. Women’s rugby, a discipline that had its second participation in the Evita Games, was about to fight for the bronze medal, but finally finished in eighth position.

In taekwondo, although Neuquén did not win a medal, it was positioned among the eight best in 20 provinces, highlighting the fifth place of Jazmín Torres, in 44 kilos and the seventh place of Geovani Petrelli, in 46 kilos.

The Province traveled with a delegation of 179 athletes who participated in 20 disciplines, including the three adapted sports (athletics, swimming and table tennis).

And it was precisely in this modality where the provincial delegation added the greatest number of medals, confirming that people with disabilities are one of the priorities of the Provincial Plan for Physical Activity, Sports and Recreation promoted by the Ministry of Human Development, Governments Local and Women, through the Sports and Youth Secretariat.

The delegation had, both conventional sports and adapted sports, representatives from various inland regions, since in addition to the capital Neuquén, the cities of Rincón de los Sauces were represented; Chos Malal; San Martin de los Andes; Aluminé; Picún Leufú; Zapala; Cutral Co; Huincul Square; Year it; Villa Pehuenia; San Patricio del Chañar and Plottier.
