SANTIAGO.- Left-handed pitcher Joelfry Rodríguez threw a no-hitter for the Linda de Navarrete team, in the Santiago Amateur Baseball Tournament, which has a special dedication to Mayor Ulises Rodríguez.
Rodríguez’s impeccable work was supported with 6 runs by his teammates, for the final score of 6-0, in the event organized by the Santiago Baseball Association (ABESA).
To achieve his feat, Joelfry Rodríguez worked 9.0 innings, walking 4 and striking out 12 opponents.
With Rodríguez’s feat, the Linda de Navarrete team, led by Geraldo Jiménez, secured its classification to the semifinal series of the event where the Santiago Mayor’s Cup is held.
The defeat for the Cienfuegos team was for pitcher Luis Cabrera.
In the second game Cienfuegos retaliated with a tight 6-5 victory, where Ángel Peralta took the victory, Wellington Quintero suffered the failure and Frederick Martínez scored a saved game.
Linda de Navarrete’s offensive was led by Edward “Sopita” Uceta and Edison Polanco, with a double and two singles; Yeferson Tineo, three from one base; Cameron Sánchez, Ángel Báez, Ricky Durán, Aneudy Ventura and Luis Martínez, unstoppable.
For Cienfuegos, Víctor “Picú” Luna and Luis López, with three rocket hits each; José Lima and Mike Márquez, a single.

The representative of the municipality of Tamboril beat Coquero Baseball Academy 5-2, in the only game that could be played due to the rains.
Albert Pérez once again threw another gem to take the victory, with 7.0 innings of 6 hits and 2 runs. The defeat was for Bryan Reynoso.
The 6 hits of the drummers were divided between Josué Collado, Félix Soriano, Rando Moreno, Sandy Polanco and MacKendy Ovil.
For Coquero Baseball Academy, Anthony Abreu, Keiver Corona, Joendry Estévez, Justin Peralta and Joan Sosa achieved a hit.

In the last Sunday game, Mercado Futuras Estrellas beat the Tranquilo Tavárez School 19-3.
Elvinson Almonte scored success with a 5.0 innings of 4 hits and 2 runs, while Junior Cabrera suffered failure.
