Freshly titled French parabadminton champion, Vauréen Maxime Gréboval has been in a federal structure in Nantes for several weeks which should allow him to progress.

It’s a new start for the parabadminton player from Lavaur. The 22-year-old sportsman licensed from Volant d’Oc Vauréen has joined the new parabadminton performance center in Nantes since September 2024. From now on Maxime Gréboval devotes his life to badminton! “I had been trying to get into such a structure for several years, and when it was offered to me I didn’t hesitate, I said yes!”, explains the young 22-year-old athlete. With 30 hours of training per week, for Maxime Gréboval everything now revolves around badminton with the six other residents of the structure, including the Paris Olympic champion Charles Noakes. “We work a lot on technique and movement, but also mental preparation, how to manage stress and emotions for example, there are also specific sessions with bodybuilding and strengthening,” explains the Tarnais.

Three French championship titles

For him, the objective is clear: to progress and be one of the best parabadminton players in the world. Which doesn’t stop him from thinking about resuming his accounting studies. “I want to win European and world titles and of course participate in the next Games in Los Angeles in 2028,” he aims. And it has already started: 8 days ago, Maxime Gréboval gleaned for the first time in Valence (Drôme) three French champion titles (individual, doubles and mixed doubles). Even if French parabadminton star Charles Noakes was absent in the south of France, these medals gave a serious boost to Maxime Gréboval. Next step, the European Championships in 2025. Last year, the Vauréen was eliminated in the quarter-finals. He will be keen to do better in a few months. An appointment has been made.
