The <a href="https://www.archysport.com/2022/01/influential-nfl-players-of-2021/" title="Influential NFL Players Of 2021″>Kansas City Chiefs, the best American football team in the world currently, are playing an impeccable season so far in the NFL (National football league), the main US championship. They won 9 games out of 9 and, also considering the end of last season, they reached 15 consecutive victories. Last February they won the Super Bowl, the NFL final, for the second time in a row, becoming the first team in twenty years to do the so-called back-to-backthat is, to win two titles in a row.
Only one team in the history of the league has won three consecutive titles, the Green Bay Packers both between 1929 and 1931 and between 1965 and 1967, but no team has technically ever won three “Super Bowls” in a row, given that the final took that name only in 1966. The Chiefs could therefore become the first to win three consecutive Super Bowls and, beyond that, they are still in the running to be the second team ever to complete the so-called perfect seasonan entire season without defeats between the regular season and the playoffs; only the Miami Dolphins succeeded in 1972, while the New England Patriots in 2007 won all their games except the last one, the Super Bowl.
In an American football season not many games are played: seventeen in the regular season and, depending on the placement, or three or four in the playoffs, including the Super Bowl. Yet what he achieved in Miami remains unmatched and widely celebrated, because the NFL is a competitive and balanced league. To achieve this, the Chiefs would also have to win their last 8 games regular season and the three in the playoffs.

Already three years ago Patrick Mahomes he said that one of his goals would be to have a 20-0 season. Mahomes is 29 years old and is the quarterback of Kansas City, the player with the most important role on the team, who starts all the attacking actions; he is now considered one of the best ever in his position and received the best player (MVP) award in all three Super Bowls recently won by Kansas City (they also won in 2020). Travis Kelce, an exceptional player, also plays for the Chiefs tight end (an offensive role) also known for being the partner of the famous singer Taylor Swift.
In addition to the excellent attack, the Chiefs are also very solid in defense and above all they are becoming more and more adept at managing crucial moments of matches. Out of nine victories this year, seven have come by overcoming the opponents by seven points or less, i.e. by just one possession (in the sense that theoretically the opponents with an offensive action could have at least equalized). Their habit of winning, their talent and their organisation, in short, have made them an exceptionally cynical and difficult team to face: last Sunday 10 November they won 16-14 against the Denver Broncos who, at the last second, would have had the kick to win the game, but had it blocked by the Kansas City defense.
It is the first time that Kansas City has reached the halfway point of the regular season still undefeated, despite the fact that several of its starters have missed some games due to various injuries. In the remaining eight games (not counting the playoffs) the most fearsome opponents will above all be the Buffalo Bills, against whom the Chiefs will play next Sunday 17 November, and the Pittsburgh Steelers, who they will face on Christmas Day; in both cases they will play away from home. The match against the Bills, who have so far achieved 8 wins and 2 losses, will already be a crucial step in understanding whether the perfect season for the Kansas City Chiefs is possible.
