With 34 points and a great three-point success, the Frenchman led the Spurs to victory against Sacramento. The Cavaliers remain invincible.
After twelve games and a new victory, snatched Monday from the Chicago Bulls (119-113) thanks in particular to Donovan Mitchell‘s 36 points, the Cleveland Cavaliers are still undefeated this season in the NBA. Yet trailing by 9 points in the third quarter, the Cavs once again turned the tide. Already on Saturday, they beat Brooklyn after overcoming a 14-point deficit. Surprise at the start of the season, Cleveland is the only team still undefeated.
For its part, Chicago can blame itself for not having capitalized when it led 85-76 four minutes from the end of the third quarter. Because the Bulls took a 9-0 which allowed the Cavaliers to equalize and continue their momentum to enter the fourth period with three points in advance. Zach LaVine’s 26 points and Coby White and Nikola Vucevic’s 20 were not enough for the Bulls to avoid a seventh defeat in eleven games. “We went far to get her,” Mitchell said after the victory. “Honestly, our bench saved us. The starting five was tired and now the opponents are looking to bring us down. But we persevered and congratulations to our bench for that. It’s a team effort,” he insisted.
Wembanyama skillful again from a distance
Furthermore, Victor Wembanyama (34 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists) led San Antonio to a 116-96 victory against Sacramento, which had started the game well by leading 26-22 at the end of the first quarter. Clumsy at three points since the start of the season, the Frenchman seems to have regained his sensations from afar with his six successful shots against the Kings, a career record equaled in the NBA. Also note the rise in power of Chris Paul, who signed 12 points and delivered 11 assists.
Beaten on Sunday at home by Golden State with the injury of Chet Holmgren (hip fracture), Oklahoma City recovered on Monday by beating the Los Angeles Clippers at home (134-128). Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 45 points for the Thunder and was well supported by Jalen Williams (28 pts) and Luguentz Dort (19 pts).
