The competition brought together young judokas from all over the country, with an outstanding participation in the -66 kg category, one of the busiest with a total of 64 competitors.

Among them, the athlete from the Huesca Judo Club, Eduardo Miranda, emerged as champion, demonstrating an outstanding level throughout six fights. From the beginning, Miranda showed great ease and determination, surpassing each of his rivals. In the semifinal, he faced a Cantabrian competitor, whom he defeated in an intense fight that gave him a place in the final.

Already in the last round, Miranda faced his partner Sandro Pla from the Binéfar Judo Club. After an even and high-quality duel, Miranda managed to prevail and climb to the top of the podium, thus achieving an important victory. This Saturday, the junior team from the Club Ibón de Huesca School traveled to Gijón, Asturias, to compete in the Spanish Judo Super Cup, an event that brings together promising young national judo players and is considered one of the most prestigious tournaments for the category. Representing Aragón, the club presented a team of six judokas: David Marí in the -66 kg category, Jon García in -73 kg, Angie Guerrero and Nerea Jubero in -52 kg, and Martina Vives with Clara Barrio in -57 kg.

The athletes were prepared for the big event, but they didn’t have their day. Although none of them managed to reach the final rounds that give access to the fight for medals, the team showed their potential and determination in each fight. David Marí, Angie Guerrero and Martina Vives in particular achieved victories in their respective categories, demonstrating their ability on the tatami and getting closer and closer to the level of demand of this highly competitive category. The rest of the team also showed great attitude although they couldn’t get past the first round.
