Carlos Mendoza, 44, is among the top three candidates for the Manager of the Year award in the National League. On the other hand, Jackson Chourio, just 20 years old, has been included among the three finalists for the Rookie of the Year award in the same league.
Both have performed outstandingly in their respective roles. Mendoza, in charge of the New York Mets, led the team to the National League Championship Series, displaying great tactical ability. Meanwhile, Chourio shone as a rookie with the Milwaukee Brewers, who were crowned champions of the Central Division thanks to his notable performance in the second half of the season.
The winners of the Jackie Robinson Rookie of the Year Award will be announced on Monday, November 18, while the Manager of the Year results will be announced on Tuesday, November 19, both events scheduled for 7:00 PM, Venezuela time.
It is important to highlight that both players faced each other in the National League Wild Card Series, where Mendoza took the victory, despite Chourio’s outstanding performance.
