TCO beats Hildesheimer TV 5:1

This was not to be expected with such clarity: With 5:1, the ladies 30 of TC Osterholz-Scharmbeck defeated Hildesheimer TV in their home hall and are therefore possibly even a candidate for promotion in the tennis league. For some time now, the hosts have once again held themselves completely harmless in the individual matches. In the top duel, Sandra Meyerdierks needed a certain amount of time to get up to operating temperature. Her very risky opponent Claudia Hönsch, number 35 in the German rankings in her age group, simply did not allow any longer rallies. However, as Meyerdierks applied more pressure and caught Hönsch more on the backhand, the encounter became increasingly one-sided.

In second position, Dörte Kleinert built up the rallies intelligently with good angle play. In the 6:3 and 6:4 she was generally very comfortable with the ball, so she often managed to place her shots optimally. Merle Neubauer’s rollercoaster ride was once again purely a matter of his head. At first she pulled her forehand through technically cleanly, but then in the second round (2:6) she no longer handled the ball so well and lost self-confidence. In the match tiebreak (10:4), Neubauer immediately took a decisive lead. After a long dry spell, Katrin Tetens was also able to celebrate this afternoon. She took the initiative in her singles and routinely played the match from the beginning.

The hosts’ only point loss ultimately became a minor matter in the subsequent doubles. Because Jule Juschkat celebrated her debut with the “Sharks”, alongside Dörte Kleinert in a game worth seeing with lots of net action, in which in the end only little things made the difference. On the neighboring pitch, Merle Neubauer and Katrin Tetens achieved a confident success. “We can now look forward to the next games in a positive and relaxed manner,” said TCO team leader Sandra Meyerdierks, exuding plenty of confidence.
