TuS judoka compete at the Walter Gimm memorial tournament | SKU


Judo: The judoka from TuS Eichengrün Kamen often have to travel long distances to compete with other athletes. Things were different last weekend, because the annual Walter Gimm memorial tournament was taking place on the home mat. Many starters from TuS Eichengrün Kamen used the short distances to gain valuable competition experience.

Jayden Becker was particularly successful in this, competing in the U11 age group in the -34 kg weight class. It was only his second tournament, but he presented himself like a professional and was able to win his first two matches early. He only had to admit defeat in the final, so he finished the tournament in a well-deserved second place. Jonathan Schiereck also started the tournament with two wins in the -37 kg weight class. After a defeat in the semifinals, he eventually found himself in third place.

In the U13 age group, Maximilian Rasel competed for the Kamen team in the -37 kg class. Unfortunately, after two defeats, he was eliminated from the tournament early. In the -43 kg class, Lenny Szallnaß was able to initially record two victories, one of them after just ten seconds. In the subsequent final he had to come up very close admitted defeat, but can also be very happy with second place. In the -46 kg weight class, Titus Michel was unstoppable that day: he went onto the mat three times and left it as the winner three times – first place was a well-deserved result. In the -50 kg class, Felix Lente had to admit defeat twice, which meant he finished the tournament in third place.

The Kamen judoka were also represented in the U18 age group. Yannik Rasel started in the -60 kg class, where he only faced one opponent. Unfortunately he had to admit defeat and ended the tournament in second place. In the -73 kg class, Marian Rasel had to admit defeat in his first fight and was subsequently unable to take part in the competition due to injury.

The TuS Eichengrün Kamen is very pleased with the positive results of its athletes and draws a very positive conclusion from this competition day.
