ZAPOPAN, Jal., November 12, 2024.- The Zapopan delegation that will participate in the 2024 Latin American Police and Firefighters Games in Cali, Colombia was presented.
These are seven police officers and three elements of the Municipal Coordination of Civil Protection and Firefighters of Zapopan, for whom the municipality held a flag ceremony.
The elements will be competing on behalf of the municipality in different sports disciplines that will take place from November 17 to 23 in Cali, Colombia, who received the flag of our Country from the general secretary of the Zapopan City Council, Graciela de Obaldía Escalante .
The firefighter, Alejandra Ávila Díaz, a multi-medal swimmer in local and national competitions, highlighted the pride it means to represent the municipality and corporation outside of Mexico. The support of their families is essential for this mission, he assured.
“Being a police officer and being a firefighter are the professions most admired by people, but mainly by children. Being an athlete means getting up earlier than work hours to be able to train, get home and continue with your work and obligations,” he said.
For his part, Roberto López Macías, general commissioner of Public Security of Zapopan, pointed out that the effort and dedication of the competitors demonstrate that commitment and improvement are possible, even in the midst of their daily responsibilities. Highlighting that he is an example of inspiration for his colleagues and the community.
“We are sure that they will compete with pride and passion, carrying the name of Zapopan high. We wish them the greatest success and hope that this experience is enriching and full of satisfaction,” the commissioner mentioned.
With activities like these, security and emergency care institutions promote sports and physical activity as a healthy lifestyle among their staff with the aim that this is reflected in optimal performance in their professional field, in addition to strengthening camaraderie. and cultural exchange between institutions at the local and international level.
