FCK’s top talent confirms his 3rd place in the recent German U11 rankings in Trostberg.

Four players from Kirnbach’s badminton youth competed in the DM in Trostberg and in the E ranking in Spaichingen at the weekend.

After Lasse Wolber (U11) reached 3rd place in the most recent German A ranking, he also achieved this “mega-strong result” at the German U11 badminton championship in Trostberg, like Bernd Ernst from the FC badminton youth department Kirnbach reports. The group winners were determined in twelve groups of four, and from the round of 16 onwards they played the German champion in the U11, the “Masters Final winner”, in the knockout system.

The four top seeds, including Lasse Wolber, had a bye in the round of 16. In the quarterfinals, the Kirnbacher won against Mika Sisic from Hamburg with 21:17 and 21:18 in two sets. In the semifinals he lost to the eventual winner Felix Jingxiang Zhang 16:21 and 11:21, which meant a shared 3rd place.

The next day, Lasse Wolber played doubles. With partner Tim Filgraebe from Hofheim, he lost a group game in the third set in overtime, which put both of them in an unfavorable seeding position in the quarter-finals. The first opponents there in the knockout system were the later German champions Julian du Bois (Leverkusen) and Clemens Nieke (Berlin), to whom the two lost 17:21 and 18:21, which meant 5th place for them.

Trio at E ranking

Three other FCK players competed in the E ranking in Spaichingen. There Pia Klausmann (U15) achieved a podium place with third place. In the field of 18 participants, Robin Gengenbacher (U13) achieved his greatest success to date with 9th place. Janne Maier (U15) also achieved personal success. In his second tournament he won a set for the first time.
