The general director of Housing, María Pardo, has handed over the keys to the owners of these single-family properties, who have acquired them with a 20% discount on their sale price

This Tuesday, the Junta de Castilla y León delivered seven single-family homes in Viana de Cega. The general director of Housing, Architecture, Territorial Planning and Urban Planning, María Pardo, has been in charge of giving the owners the keys to these new properties aimed at young people under 36 years of age. The mayor of the municipality, Alberto Collantes, and the deputy of the Family Service, Equality, Social Action and Residential Centers, Alfonso Romo, were also present at the delivery ceremony.

This concession is part of the actions promoted by the Ministry of Environment, Housing and Territorial Planning through the Public Society of Infrastructure and Environment (Somacyl) to facilitate access to decent housing for young people in the Community.

In this sense, a total of seven single-family homes have been built on the land donated by the Viana city council. Each of them has two floors – ground floor plus first floor -, a total useful area of 89.47 m2 plus a 17 m garage.2 as well as a small front and back garden. On the ground floor they have an entrance hall, a full bathroom, a bedroom, kitchen and living room, and on the upper floor they have 2 bedrooms and a full bathroom.

All of them have had an investment of 900,000 euros and have been located on Calle Reyes Católicos from 2 to 12 and Calle del Río 26. Likewise, the general director has explained that, since the successful bidders are under 36 years of age, they have a reduction in the sale price of 20%, “so that families are going to pay for these houses, which would cost an average of 100,000 euros, about 80,000 euros.”

María Pardo has pointed out that this group of homes are “modern and efficient, since they are adapted to the Technical Building Code (CTE)”. “They have a thermal envelope of the buildings through a façade with SATE (Exterior Thermal Insulation System) and air renewal inside, the works being carried out under optimal energy efficiency conditions with an A energy rating.”

Regarding the selection process of the successful bidders, it has been carried out by the City Council among the applicants for Protected Housing of the Junta de Castilla y León. The mayor, Alberto Collantes, commented that “it has taken longer than initially planned to complete the works due to the current construction phase but, in the end, what is truly important is that the seven neighbors can now enter their new homes.” .

The councilor highlighted that “facilitating access to housing for the town’s youngest residents was a commitment of our electoral program that we now see fulfilled.” In fact, he has announced that they are already working to be able to access another similar initiative to “continue taking steps in this field, making homes available to more neighbors, and making it easier for them to stay and live in Viana.”
