Our portal follows local sports, but we also follow sportsmen and women who started from our county and made great careers outside these borders.
Among them is Maja Joščak from Daruvar from Doljan, who is one of the best (if not the best) Croatian soccer players in history. For many years, she has been a player of ZNK Osijek, a club that wins trophies in Croatia and participates in the Champions League. But all is not well there, so the girls went public with a press release, and we are with our Maja…
‘Patriotism is a simple word, it symbolizes love for something you are attached to, love that does not benefit you… After the public media appearance of the club’s management, president of ZNK Osijek Bojan Bodražić and secretary Ivana Svalina, we announce that there are no longer 8 of us, now there are 9 of us… and there will be us more…
After refusing to talk to all of us a few days ago, President Bodražić agreed to it after our story shook the public, came to the media, and we were given enormous support from people who themselves were once part of that club and all those who are fighting against any kind of injustice.
We came to the interview and asked them why they lie, why they mislead the public when the data is easily available, why they don’t publish the accounts? Why do they say that 140,000 euros were spent on accommodation, a trip to the Netherlands and the organization of the match? We started our journey by bus to Belgrade, from Belgrade by Wizz Air flight to Dortmund, from Dortmund by bus to Enschede. The cost of accommodation in a hotel in the Netherlands was 8,100 euros, the return tickets of the Wizz Air company for all 28 passengers totaled 13,000 euros. It is clear to any average connoisseur of mathematical operations that the amount spent is far from the 140,000 euros they state in the press release. Our club spends a maximum of 90,000 euros on qualifying appearances, and receives 290,000 euros from UEFA!! Qualifications for the Champions League have been played 12 times in the last 15 years, in the last 5 years the best result in the club’s history was achieved twice, entering the 28 best teams in Europe (play-off). We are writing this letter honorably, honestly and truthfully, just as we have been honorably wearing, defending and representing the colors of this city and the sacred jersey of our national team in Croatia and Europe for years!’, she announced. White and blue birtia on his Facebook page, otherwise a profile that follows the Osijek football club in detail and is relevant in terms of information and always stands with justice.
“Our names are written in CAPITAL letters in Croatian women’s football and are well known to anyone who even follows it.” This is our reality, a story that has been going on for years, a whole decade, we have been over-educated and used to misery, we have created for ourselves the feeling of needing to be grateful when our salaries are mentioned, bus rides to matches, lunch and dinner in a hotel, a warm bed that the club provides us with the most basic things that every athlete needs when traveling. Our property card is very modest, not because we didn’t deserve it, but because it was never important to us. What we have in abundance and what we are most proud of are our medals and trophies. Football is the most important thing in our lives, we play it with all our hearts and the joy it gives us cannot be measured in any currency…
We built the history of ŽNK Osijek, created a brand that is the pride of all of us, of the entire city, and the contribution of each of us to the club where we spent half of our lives is devalued by premiums that are equal to one bag from the store… For years we have been silent, squinting at the obvious , we are witnesses of malfeasance on a global scale, just because we love what we do and did not dare to endanger the only thing we care about, which is SOCCER. ENOUGH!!! ENOUGH ENRICHMENT OVER OUR BACKS !!! Premiums of 200 euros for the Champions League are the final straw, we are humiliated as human beings by those from whom we deserve the most respect. From the beginning, this is not a fight for money, and it is no longer a fight just for us’, add the players from Osijek and continue:
“We are NOT asking for higher premiums, or higher salaries, or anything monetary. We are only looking for a new, CAPABLE Management that will not take advantage of our love for football. This is a fight for every girl in our club, for every girl who plays football and for every girl who will play it. This is a fight for their future, for their dignity, because it may be too late for us! That is why we are sending a cry to the public: to the mayor of our city of Osijek, NK Osijek, the Croatian Football Association, the Osijek-Baranja County, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports…help us save Osijek women’s football…now we need you…
