Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s offensive excellence this season was rewarded Tuesday night, as he won the Silver Bat for a first baseman in the American.
This is Guerrero Jr.’s second such honor, having won the title in 2021.
This season, the Blue Jays star hit 30 home runs and produced 103 runs. His .323 batting average was the second best in the majors this season and the best of his career.
In the American, the New York Yankees were also well represented with two recipients among the outfielders.
Juan Soto first won a fifth silver stick, while his teammate Aaron Judge won the honor for the fourth time in his career. Judge led the majors this season in home runs (58), fielding average (.458) and OPS (1.159), in addition to having the third-best batting average (.322).
Soto finished the campaign with 41 home runs, 109 RBIs and a .288 batting average. He also had the second best average presence on the trails (.419).
In the National, Shohei Ohtani won the award for the third time, serving as designated hitter this season. Mookie Betts et Teoscar Hernandez also made the Dodgers shine, who also won Offensive Team of the Year.
THE San Diego Padres won three awards thanks to Manny Machado, Jurickson Profar and Jackson Merrill.
