Park usage fees in Fairfax County, Virginia are expected to rise significantly starting next year.
The Fairfax County Parks Department is collecting public opinion through its website until 4:30 p.m. on the 29th (Friday) ahead of the increase in various park usage fees and the establishment of new parks that will take effect on January 1st of next year.
The County Parks Department has 23,000 acres in 420 parks, including 324 miles of trails, as well as nine indoor recreation centers, eight golf courses, nine visitor centers, three lakefront parks, swimming pools, picnic shelters, and tennis courts. , water parks, mini golf courses, disc golf courses, dog parks, kayak centers, horticultural centers, farms, ice skating rinks, state parks, and more.
Among these park usage fees, the fee for using the 25-yard swimming pool at the recreation center will increase by less than a dollar, from the current $29.89 to $30.77, but the 10-time use ticket for the public skating rink will rise by a whopping $27.10, from $62.90 to $90.
