Delmenhorster FC wins and loses

Two teams are expected to be relegated from the Badminton State League and there is a good chance that they will hit Delmenhorster FC. On the double match day, however, the team at least got their first win of the season, but missed further points in the second match against a direct competitor in the basement.

The DFC, like Blau-Weiß Buchholz, started the game without a point. In the direct duel, the Delmestadt team narrowly won 5:3. In the first doubles of the day, Julius Dreßen and Simon Wepner narrowly lost after three rounds against Christian Frischen and Sebastian Eick (19:21, 21:17, 21:23), but the women’s doubles with Anja Eilers and Alena Schneider tied against Franziska Knopp and Verena Radinsky confidently over 21:15 and 21:9. Frank Eilers and Torben Wachholz put their colors in the front in the third doubles with 21:19, 21:18 against Lasse Fitzner and René Böck.

Wachholz wins decisive singles

A close match followed between Schneider and Livia Ratzka, which the DFC player won 21:19, 26:24. Meanwhile, the Eilers couple had no problems defeating Frischen/Knopp 21:11, 21:11 and so the Delmenhorst team clearly led 4:1. But Böck prevailed against Wepner and Fitzner beat Dreßen in two sets – 21:17, 21:18 and 21:17, 24:22 respectively – so that the last individual decided. Wachholz showed strong nerves in the first round and won against Eick with 23:21. This was followed by a 21:1 for a 5:3 overall victory.

In the second match of the day, the DFC met BC 82 Osnabrück, who at that point were five points ahead of seventh-placed Delmenhorstern in sixth place. With a win, Eilers and Co. would have moved closer to their opponents, but they held on with a score of 5:3 Upper hand.

Singles go to Osnabrück

Eilers and Wachholz as well as the Eilers couple won their doubles against Timo Brink/Jonas Lang and Lang/Anna Mahnken quite clearly in two sets – 21:14, 21:18 and 21:13, 21:14 respectively. However, the other two doubles went to Osnabrück. Lisa Olde Meule and Jennifer Wending defeated Eilers/Schneider in three sets with 21:15, 19:21, 21:16 and Mohamed Mahmoud Djitli/Rafter Yang Dharmawan Njata beat Henning Cohrs and Wepner with 21:14, 25:23.

However, there was little to gain for the Delmenhorster team in the individual competition: Schneider lost to Meule with 4:21, 15:21, Cohrs lost to Brink with 5:21, 15:21 and Dreßen lost to Njata with 15:21, 19:21 . Only Wachholz prevailed against Djitli with 14:21, 21:11, 21:14. The OSnabrück team got both points against the DFC.

The DFC is now six points behind Post SV Leer, which is above the line.
