Two Kerry teams win silverware at Munster Inter-county Masters badminton championships

The over 50s grade C&D team came home with gold

On Sunday last, the Munster Intercounty Masters competition took place in UL.

The competition was split into two age groups – Over40 and Over 50. It was then further broken down into three grading sections – Grade G&H, E&F and C&D.

Kerry had teams competing in five of the six competitions on the day so well done to all in organising the teams. The over 50s were teams of four, two men and two women.

With four games to play and the over 40 teams were teams of a minimum of six, three men and three women. They had six games to play each round. Each team played at least two games and by the end of the day, we had two teams come away with silverware.

The over 50s grade E& F team got silver after losing out in some close games to Waterford and the over 50s grade C&D competition came home with gold after beating a strong Cork team.

November Handicap 2024

The annual November Handicap competition is taking place this coming Sunday the 17th of November in the Kerry Sports Academy arena on North campus of MTU Kerry in Tralee.

Be sure to get your entries in to your club secretaries as soon as possible to ensure you will be able to play. Its sure to be a great competition as it is every year and best of luck to everyone play and organizing the competition.

Would be great to see some support for the players as well so be sure to come along and cheer them on from 10am Sunday morning.
