Indeed, the Amiens club has once again proposed a qualitative competition with nearly 300 players involved. Among these competitors, there were more than 60 Amiensand several of them have distinguished themselves in the image of Léo Crépin and Yvon Crépelle who won in men’s doubles series 1, just like Clémence Hanin and Aude Duvauchel (BUFS) in women’s doubles series 4, or even Christophe Nguyen and Van-Loi Paul Nguyen in men’s doubles series 5. As for the mixed doubles, the tables will have given way to numerous oppositions 100% from Amienslike the series 1 or Rachel Messan and Léo Crépin (AUC) prevail against Marion Uguen (AUC) et William Dufossé (BCA)or even in series 6 with Geoffrey Clavier and Héloïse Blondel which impose themselves in the face of Justine Frouin and Antoine Lessieux. In series 3, Lina Bouras associated with Denis Vilcot (BBC) wins the tournament, as does Léa Chevalier and Théo Flament in series 5.

A great harvest in terms of results, but also in terms of returns, since the club can rely on a great satisfaction of the participants regarding the quality of the tournament and the welcome offered. Underlined qualities, which the club once again highlighted on Monday November 11 with its youth tournament.

The big return of the Young Gargoyles tournament

For the bravest Amiens volunteers, there is no room for respite after the senior tournament, since they mobilized for the organization of the national tournament of Young Gargoyles. A competition which had not been organized by the club for several years and which president Pierre Bohin, accompanied by his steering committee, wished to put back on the agenda. For the occasion, more than 100 young people were welcomedin the same conditions as the seniors during the previous two days.

In this tournament dedicated to categories ranging from chicks to juniors, we found around thirty AUCists. Titouan Foutaine particularly distinguished himself in the competition by achieving the double. The young Amiens man wins in cadet men’s singles (series 2) facing his club partner, Ulysse Merlin-Gaymeas well as in cadet men’s doubles (series 2) alongside Lucas Fourdrignier. Among the juniors, Quentin Coulombel wins the singles series 2 table. On the younger side, Aloun Levi finished second in the men’s singles chicks, just like Aliénor Vautherin in minimal ladies’ singles. In doubles, César Merlin-Gayme and Eliott Tafforeau finish finalists in the Benjamins table (series 2).

The Halle des Quatre Chênes was therefore not empty over the weekend, since the club welcomed more than 400 players over this three-day weekend. All the participants, young people and adults, proposed a good level of playwith some very close matches, which did not displease the public. Amiens UC Badminton has therefore once again confirmed its know-how, and is already embarking on the organization of the Hortillons 2024 national tournament which will be held next March. Indeed, the Amiens club has announced the opening of registrations and some new features, including the opening of the tournament to players classified N1. This will make it possible to welcome players from the French top 100, and to give even more prestige to this tournament which enjoys great success every year.
