The Spanish authorities issued a red weather alert due to extreme rains and flooding in some parts of the country, and the International Tennis Federation (ITF) decided on the change, after which the start of the finals will be tomorrow, with Japan –Romania.
This decision has been made based on the instructions of the authorities to guarantee the health and safety of all participants and attendees. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and cooperation, the ITF said in a statement.
In addition to Spain and Poland, 10 other teams are in Andalusia to fight for the title won last year for the first time by Canada.
The postponement means that the final two days of the BJK Cup will overlap with the men’s Davis Cup final, which will be held in the same Martín Carpena pavilion next week.
