Saturday 9 November 2024 began 3rd Hakuna Matata Tournament.
The memorial wants to remember Simone Mazzorana, athlete of Pallacanestro Busalla and of all Genoese basketball, who left us 3 years ago due to a tragic accident.
As in previous editions, the tournament is reserved for children in the MiniBasket Squirrels category (born in 2016 and following). The spirit that has animated the organizers and participants from the beginning will be the same as this year’s edition: a great party for the little ones, where they can have fun competing against their opponents, but always with a smile on their faces, the same smile that Simone left us as an indelible memory.
In the first two editions the tournament saw an increase in the number of participating teams, instructors and families involved. The children always participated with great joy and fun. This pushed Simone’s family and Busalla Basketball, with the patronage of the Ligurian Regional Committee of the FIP and the support of the Municipality of Busalla, to organize an 8-stage circuit this year, where four teams will compete each time.
All participants will finally meet again on May 18, 2025 in Busalla for the big final party, with the delivery of equal prizes and medals for everyone, as there is no type of ranking.
