EL NUEVO DIARIO, SANTO DOMINGO. – The Judo delegation participating in the 2024 Fisuamerica Pan American Games Cali (Colombia) won 4 medals, one silver and three bronze.
This delegation is made up of the athletes Jennifer Desert of the 70kg, Creymarlin Valdez of the 63kg and Ángela Aguasanta of 52kg, who obtained 4 medals in their respective categories and Pablo Corniel who placed fifth in the weight of 66kg, according to a press release.
In the 70kg, the athlete Jennifer Desert had her first fight with the Brazilian Nathalia Gómez, who defeated the Dominican; In her second fight Jennifer tried to take down her rival, the Mexican Ángeles Ramos, where she also succumbed to obtain the bronze medal.
For her part, the Dominican Creymarlin Valdez from the National Evangelical University (UNEV), of the 63 kg, in her first fight defeated the Argentine Camila Saldano, then lost the gold medal to the Brazilian Rafaela Rodríguez, thus obtaining the medal of silver.
Ángela Aguasanta in the 52kg took the bronze medal by tying with the Colombian Valentina Castro.
The Dominican Pablo Corniel in the 66 kg, was defeated by his teammates, finishing in fifth place in the contest.
