The juniors and juniors of the Mendois Dojo club fought in Saint-Flour, this Sunday, November 10, 2024, as part of the Cantal open.
A first trip for the judokas of Mende. These are the junior (2013-2014) and minimal (2012-2011) categories which opened this competition season with a short trip to Saint-Flour for the Cantal open tournament, this Sunday, November 10. A first for the youngest Clément Paris, Nolan Rodier and Nil Stern Cedolon who are leaving the animation category.
A tournament which consisted of a first group phase of three to four fighters. The first two went to the table. For the Mendois, various fortunes. In -32 kg, Clément Paris was defeated in his three matches and did not come out of the qualifying group.
A gold medal
In -38 kg, Nolan Rodier won two out of three fights. He entered the quarter-finals, but unfortunately failed.
Nil Stern Cedolon, in the – 42 kg category, came out first in his group, with fewer fighters. He went straight to the semi-final, which he won before the time limit. It was the same for the final. This is a first podium for him and a nice gold medal.
In the afternoon, it was the turn of the juniors, with a female Maely Raymond. This first was also difficult for her, since she did not make it out of the group.
Next event, the Lozère Cup
It was the same for Raphaël Carnac, in -55 kg. Despite the battles he fought, he was caught behind each time. He resumed judo after a break.
During this tournament Faustin Gibelin, regional referee, officiated as backup.
Next stop, Sunday November 17, for the first day of the Lozère Cup.
