BERGAMBACHT – On Saturday, November 16, 2024, the De Waard sports hall in Bergambacht will once again be buzzing with sporting energy. The Badminton Club Blue Sky organizes the annual Van den Hoek Youth Open badminton tournament there for the fifteenth time, where young people from 6 to 19 years old from all over the Netherlands show their sporting talents. The tournament starts at 9:00 am and lasts until approximately 9:00 pm.
With more than 75 participants, the event promises to be an exciting day full of competitions. Young people from the Krimpenerwaard and surrounding regions are well represented, including teams from badminton clubs such as BC Sluyk/Lekkerkerk and BC Ouderkerk.
In addition, clubs from more distant provinces such as North Holland, Utrecht, Zeeland, North Brabant and even Limburg have also registered. The tournament’s popularity continues to grow, making it a highlight on the calendar for young badminton players.
Game schedule
The schedule provides for different age categories: in the morning the youngest participants play their matches until 5 p.m., after which the older youth enter the courts. Singles matches as well as doubles and mixed matches are on the programme, which ensures a versatile and dynamic competition atmosphere.
Interested parties are welcome all day long to take a look at the sports hall and cheer on the young players.
