The decision comes two weeks after Steichen benched Richardson, preferring 39-year-old veteran Joe Flacco.
Flacco has struggled over the past two weeks, committing six turnovers in two one-sided losses.
Steichen chose Flacco over Richardson, the fourth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, as he wanted to see him involved more behind the scenes. The Colts head coach added that he has recently seen progress in this area from Richardson.
